Kendriya Vidyalayas Sangathan (KVS)

Kendriya Vidyalayas Sangathan (KVS) aims to cater to the educational needs of the children of transferable Central Government employees including defence and para-military personnel, floating populations, including people living in remote and undeveloped locations of the country by providing a common programme of education; to pursue excellence and set pace in the field of school education. The KVS promotes experimentation and innovativeness in education in collaboration with other bodies like the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), and develops the spirit of national integration and create a sense of "Indianness" among children. The KVS establishes, endows, maintains, controls and manage schools.

Output & Achievements

  • 1. The KVS provides common text-books and bilingual medium of instructions for all Kendriya Vidyalayas. 2. The KVS charges no tuition fee for boys upto Class VIII, girls upto Class XII and SC/ST students and children of KVS employees. 3. Annual Reports (09), Annual Accounts (06), and Newsletter (09). 4. The KVS offers Adolescence Education Programme (AEP). 5. Gyan Kosh (56 videos).6. Exploring New Horizons includes: Digital initiatives, Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat, Swasth Bachche Swasth Bharat, Back to Basics, JIGYASA, Awakened Citizen Programme, Swachhtam Vidyalaya & Harit Vidyalaya, Tarunotsava, Pustakouphaar, Anandvaar, Seema Darshan, E-Prajn, KVS as pace setting organisation, Compensation of Academic Loss Programme (CALP), Green Building Initiatives, Vishruti ,Bala, Chhu lo gagan, Bharat Scouts & Guides and NCC. 7. The KVS conducts sports meetings annually.
