Reduces sewage treatment time at wetland. Improves efficiency of wetland treatment system. Reduce minimum space requirement for wetland construction. Use of culture in the form of biofilm protects the bacteria from toxic compounds in sewage and increases its survival during influx of toxic substances and shock loads. Eliminate requirement of frequent addition of microbial culture.
