Executive Summary :

Major leads of Core Lab I (AAU, Guwahati) under ADMaC phase I include development of vaccinesagainst some of the endemic diseases like classical swine fever and Duck Plague. Again, importantleads were obtained under diagnostics which include both molecular as well as serological assaysthat could be used for early diagnosis of prevalent diseases.

Achievements :

Cell culture adapted duck plague virus(DPV)vaccine candidate (DPV/As/Km/19)has been identified and its immunogenicity was evaluated by a control animal experiment in ducks. The vaccine produced promising antibody titre including neutralization titre upto day60 post immunization. Indirect ELISA for detection of specific antibodies against DPV,CSFV, PCV2, JEV, Brucella spp. And Coxiella burnetiid have been optimized by using recombinant protein or immunogenic peptides as coating antigen. A competitive ELISA having DIVA potential for multi species Brucellosis has been developed and validated. Three lateral flow assay(LFA)for detection of JEV, DPV and Brucella specific antibodies have also been optimized, and validation process with licencing formalities of LFA for Brucella antibody detection
