Executive Summary : | The project is aimed at developing new conducting porous framework materials such as metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent-organic frameworks (COFs) and their polyaniline membrane interwoven composite/hybrid for chemiresistive biosensors. Contrary to conventional physical composite formation, a unique chemical bond formation strategy will be applied between MOFs/COFs and polyaniline networks to aid conductivity, fast diffusion and a better control over chemical response. The MOFs/COFs have been selected to provide optimal porosity, stability and crystallinity; while the polyaniline networks will be controlled to boost conducting and threading pathways in the composite/hybrid. These synergisms will allow a robust yet flexible platform with amplified signal response that is suitable for wearable bioelectronic applications. |
