Executive Summary :

Metal Halide Perovskite (MHP)-based photocatalysis has excellent properties, including broad light absorption, long carrier lifetime, and redox ability for target reactions. However, it is limited to non-polar or mildly polar solvents and undergoes structural degradation due to constant light irradiation. This project aims to address these limitations by synthesizing core-shell perovskite nanocrystals, enhancing stability in water and under continuous light irradiation. The project will study electron or hole transfer processes, industrially important photocatalytic changes, and the role of surface passivating ligands in effective charge extraction. The project will also investigate surface trap states in LHP NCs, which generate through ligand desorption, strong light irradiation, and aging. The project aims to investigate the structure-property relation of low-dimensional lead-free chiroptical perovskites synthesized via reliable methods for efficient CPL photodetectors.
