Merit Cum Means Scholarship For Professional and Technical Courses CS (MOMA-MCM)

The objective of this Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the poor and meritorious students belonging to minority communities to enable them to pursue professional and technical courses from a recognized institution. These scholarships are available for studies in India only and will be awarded through State Government/UT Administration or an Agency designated by them for this purpose. During 12th Five Year Plan, it has been decided that 60000 fresh Scholarships will be awarded each financial year, besides renewals among the students of minority communities in States/UTs throughout our country based on the State/UT-wise population of these communities. Eligibility: i) Students who get admission to a college to pursue technical/professional courses, on the basis of a competitive examination are eligible. ii) Students who get admission in technical/professional courses without giving any competitive examination, subject to their getting 50% marks at higher secondary/graduation level are also be eligible. Selection of these students will be done strictly on merit basis. iii) Continuation of the scholarship in subsequent years will depend on successful completion of the course each year. iv) The annual income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian of beneficiary should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh from all sources. Fellowship amount: Maintenance Allowance of Rs.1000 p.m. (for 10 months in a year) i.e. Rs.10000 p.a. to those residing in hostels while that of Rs.500 p.m. amounting to Rs.5000 for 10 months in a year for day scholars is given. In addition, full course fee up to Rs.20000 p.a. or Actual, whichever lesser is also provided.
