Achievements: | 1. A specific watershed was selected in Almora district to understand the climate-water-agriculture-wildlife nexus, for which the necessary baseline data from the households was collected to analyse the interactions at ecosystem level. Further, a mobile agro-advisory service support to farmers through WhatsApp group on weather conditions and cultivation of crops is initiated in Almora district.
2. Adaptation technologies such as tress tolerant varieties, agronomic management and natural resource management, integrated farming systems etc. have been shortlisted along with the conduction of adaptation experiments for database creation. Further, scope of integrated farming systems, testing of alternate crops and varieties have been undertaken for simulating the scope for technology out-scaling.
3. Interventions in farmers’ fields showcased the technology driven improvements in yield.
4. 33 capacity building programmes have benefitted 185 students and >1200 farmers. Also, linkages with State Government’s and other initiatives have been established in Uttarkhand and Himachal Pradesh
