A process for preparation of liquid crystalline polyesters

The present invention provides a process for preparation of liquid crystalline polyesters of formula hydroxyphenylacetic acid and 4- hydroxybenzoic acid has been taken as a copolymer which give copolyesters of better melt processability and thermal stability with the expected nematic meso phase. Moreover, it is a cost effective process for the production of liquid crystalline copolyesters through this route.
