GB2834193: Production of high purity salt with reduced levels of impurities

The process of the invention is an improvement over the existing process of producing salt of high purity from clarified brine disclosed recently in the prior art. More particularly, the invention rectifies the contamination of trace element impurities especially Br, as required by specialty inorganic chemical industries. The improved process involves the recrystallization of the harvested salt using natural brine as a media in the solar salt fields itself as a part of salt production activities. The entire process is carried out under ambient conditions and does not involve any additional chemicals or equipments/ implements. The process is cost effective, environmentally friendly and can be implemented in any solar salt works irrespective of its size and location. The process is proved to be commercially viable.
