A Device for Suppression of Dust Produced During Blasting of Coalface In Bord Pillar Mining

The device of the present invention consists of brattice cloth rolling shutter, and the said roller shaft being supported on two vertical screw props cum water column doubled walled chamber. At the top of the props are fitted a plurality of water nozzles connected to the water column through a pump which facilitates the spraying of water through the nozzles and which in-turn settle down the dust clouds generated during blasting. The base of the props has a hook which holds the brattice cloth during blasting operation. The combination of water spray and brattice cloth screen enables settling down of the dust clouds generated during blasting. Thus avoiding miners present in the area from inhaling the dust particles which are detrimental to health and is the major cause of respiratory diseases
