Production of Low-Carbon Ferro-Alloys by Alumino-Thermic Process

(1) The process is simple low capital investment and can easily be adopted in a small scale sector. In the first stage, dried charge of uniform size is fed into the reaction vessel and mixture is ignited. The heat generated by the reaction is self sustaining and good metal and slag separation. (2) Low carbon ferro alloys are mostly used in the production of high speed, constructional quality and special steel, valves, spring steels and high strength low-alloys (HSLA) structural steel.
