3D Central Acquisition Radar

3D-CAR has been developed to be a Surveillance Radar at Group HQ to provide early warming to the batteries for the medium range AKASH surface to air missile weapon SAM systems. It can be adapted as 3D Surveillance Radars for all the three services. The 3D-CAR radar is mounted on two TATRA Vehicles-Radar Sensor Vehicle (RSV) and Data Centre Vehicle (DCV) and possesses matching mobility for different operations. Multibeam antenna unit with its rotating, stowage, deployment gear and leveling arrangements and all the sensor subsystems up to the signal processor and post processor are located in RSV. Flexible compliments of processing and monitoring sub system in the vehicle help configure the radar work as a single vehicle unit, when necessary under battlefield conditions. DCV houses two radar consoles, IFF control panel, radar data processor, communication equipment and rest room for operators. Two 125 KVA, 50 Hz, Diesel Gensets are mounted on a third TATRA VVL vehicle.
