Research Grants - International
The Indian Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology
(MST) and Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) invite
Indian and Brazilian Universities, Research Centres, Institutions and Industries to
submit joint proposals for scientific and technological R&D translational projects in the
area of Biotechnology. This call for proposals lies within the “Agreement on Scientific and
Technological Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of India and the
Government of the Republic of Brazil”. Indian citizens who fulfill national eligibility rules for research grant application are eligible to apply under the following categories – i. A principal investigator (holding permanent position) in a University or Research Institution. ii. Team of principal investigators (holding permanent positions) from multiple Universities and/or Research Institutions for forming a scientific network iii. A principal investigator having temporary position (for at least 5 years) in collaboration with a mandatory co-investigator holding permanent position (minimum of 5 years service remaining from the date of sanction of the project) in a University or Research Institution. iv)A principal investigator from a Private Industry in collaboration with a
mandatory co-investigator holding permanent position (minimum of 5 years
service remaining from the date of sanction of the project) in a University or
Research Institution.
In each category, there must be a respective counterpart from Brazilian side as a part of the Joint Proposal.
