Social Benefits:	Aluminium particle reinforced composites exhibits high stiffness, strength, wear resistance. Its exhibit comparable strength to that of cast iron and also have excellent castability. Thus these composites can be cast into any shape as that of cast iron provided the fluidityor viscosity of composite melt is controlled. It can be cast through any kind of casting. The cast iron is used for making manhole cover and frames as these are corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and exhibit excellent mechanical properties.

Description :

The manhole cover has simple shape but it may be as big as 600 to 700 mm diameteror similar kind of rectangular dimensions, and 15 to 20 mm thickness. As a result, these manhole cover become very heavy ( as high as 100 to 150 kg)and it is thus required lots of transportation cost and installation cost in-terms of labour and machinery.Some time these may be still bigger and heavier. The weight of each component will be reduced by 60 to 70% and thus the same size of manhole cover may be weighing of 30kg to 35 kg. These will be easy to handle and install, and three times more number of manhole cover could be transported
