Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (CBS), Mumbai

The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, and the University of Mumbai, Vidyanagari Campus jointly established Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (CBS) in 2007 to offer high-quality undergraduate teaching embedded in a postgraduate and research environment. CBS offers a five-year Integrated M.Sc. program in the basic sciences for students with a modern, flexible, integrated and seamless curriculum with considerable emphasis on practical training and development of analytical and problem-solving skills in addition to formal learning.

The Centre of Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education (COESME), Pune

The Centre of Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education (CoESME) at IISER, Pune has been set up as a part of the Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching under the ambit of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India. CoESME aims to strengthen science education in India by engaging with various stakeholders, in particular teachers of school and undergraduate level science and mathematics.

Centre for Excellence in Nanoelectronics (CEN), Mumbai

The Centre of Excellence in Nanoelectronics (CEN) is a collaborative project between IIT Bombay and IISc Bengaluru. CEN offers multidisciplinary research program involving faculty from various departments. The center focuses on the design, fabrication and characterization of traditional CMOS nanoelectronic devices, novel material based devices (III-V compound semiconductor, spintronics, opto-electronics), micromechanical systems, Bio-MEMS, solar photovoltaics and polymer based devices.
