Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB)

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), statutory organisation was entrusted with the powers and functions under the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. It serves as a field formation and also provides technical services to the Ministry of Environment and Forests of the provisions of the Environment (Protection).

National Tiger Conservation Authority (NCTA)

The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NCTA) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change constituted for strengthening tiger conservation. The National Tiger Conservation Authority has been fulfilling its mandate for strengthening tiger conservation in the country by retaining an oversight through advisories/normative guidelines, based on appraisal of tiger status, ongoing conservation initiatives and recommendations of specially constituted Committees.

Central Zoo Authority of India (CZAI)

Central Zoo Authority (CZA) was established as a statutory body under the Ministry of Environment & Forests by the Government of India in the year 1992. The main objective of this Authority is to complement and strengthen the national effort in conservation of rich biodiversity of the country, particularly the fauna. Other objectives of this Authority include enforcing minimum standards and norms for upkeep and healthcare of animals in Indian zoos and to control mushrooming of unplanned and ill-conceived.

Indian Forest Service (IFS)

The Indian Forest Service (IFS), one of the three All India Services, was constituted by the Government of India. The main mandate of the service is the implementation of the National Forest Policy which envisages scientific management of forests and to exploit them on a sustained basis for primary timber products, among other things
