World Environment Day
World Environment Day is a UN Environment-led global event, the single largest celebration of our environment each year, which takes place on June 5 and is celebrated by thousands of communities worldwide. India is the global host of 2018 World Environment Day. With “Beat Plastic Pollution” as the theme for this year’s edition, the world is coming together to combat single-use plastic pollution.
National Children's Science Congress (NCSC)
Children’s Science Congress is targeted to spread the concept of the method of science among the children their project activities adopting the principle of learning through doing’. The mandate of participation is that, the children will carry out a project on a particular topic in relation to theme and sub-theme decided for the year. The study is to be carried out in the neighbourhood of the children where they live.
India Science Congress

India International Science Festival (IISF)
The India International Science Festival (IISF) is being organised every year, in october, since 2015 to encourage scientific temper among the masses and showcasing Indian contribution in the field of S&T over the years. The prime objective of the festival is to instill scientific temper among the masses and showcasing India’s contribution in the field of S&T over the years.
Earth Day
- In an effort to bring awareness among the public, schools and colleges, Earth Day is being celebrated on 22nd April across the country every year with the financial support of the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
- 300 centres, including educational and Science Centers in the country celebrate Earth Day since 2008.
- Earth Day, the largest civic-focused day of action in the world, is a global event, in which more than 1 billion people in 192 countries take part.
‘End Plastic Pollution’ is the theme for this year’s edition.
