Indian Science Congress 2020

The Congress is a major focal point for scientists, researchers and academicians interested in various aspects of science discoveries and technologies. New generation technologies with sound scientific basis are the key factors for the overall growth of the country. Progress in field of agricultural, medical, physical and chemical sciences have significantly contributed to the development of modern technologies.

National Children's Science Congress 2019

The objectives of the National Children‘s Science Congress (NCSC) is to make a forum available to children in the age group 10-17 years, both from formal school system and from out of school, to exhibit their creativity and innovativeness, more particularly to solve a societal problem experienced locally using methods of science. The NCSC prompts to think of some significant societal problem, ponder over its causes and subsequently try and solve the same using the scientific methods.

National Technology Day

The Ministry of Science and Technology celebrates 11th May as National Technology Day every year. The day is regarded as a symbol of quest for scientific inquiry, technological creativity and the translation of that quest in the integration of Science, Society and Industry. The day is celebrated to commemorate caarying out successful nuclear tests at pokharan, test flying of first indegenous aircraft 'Hansa-3', and test firing of Trishul missile in 1998.

14th Agricultural Science Congress

The theme of the Congress, 'Innovations for Agricultural Transformation', is central to the national complementary pledges of building a New India and Doubling Farmers' Income by 2022. Agriculture is the foremost sector to free the nation of these persisting maladies like hunger and malnutrition. The Congress will showcase agriculture not only as the main source of employment and livelihood security for nearly 50 percent of India's population, bulging to be the largest in the world by 2025, but also as a business opportunity, service provider, industry, and ecosystem protector.

International Yoga Day

On December 11 in 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga. The declaration came at the behest of the Indian Prime Minister during his address to UN General Assembly on September 27, 2014. In Suggesting June 21, which is the Summer Solstice, as the International Day of Yoga, the Prime Minister had said, "The date is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and has special significance in many parts of the world.”

Conference on Homeland Security

FICCI on an annual basis organises a conference on Homeland Security, which witnesses participation from senior officials from Government of India, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and various State Police Forces (SPFs). The tenth edition of the Homeland Security programme will be organised in partnership with ‘Vivekananda International Foundation’. The theme of this year’s programme is ‘Cyber Crime Management’.

National Science Day

On 28 February 1928, celebrated Indian Scientist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman discovered a phenomenon of scattering of photons which was later known as ‘Raman Effect’ after his name. After two years in 1930, he got Nobel Prize for this remarkable discovery and this was the first Nobel Prize for India in the field of Science. To mark the discovery of his famous phenomenon National Science Day is celebrated in India on the day each year. The basic objective of observation of National Science Day is to spread the message of importance of science and its application among the people.

National Technology Day

National Technology Day is observed to memorialize the nuclear test which was held in Pokhran on 11 May 1998. Becoming the sixth nuclear state of the world was not the sole thing India attained on that day. Hansa-3, India’s foremost indigenous aircraft was flown in Bengaluru when the nuclear tests were being organized in Rajasthan. On 11th May, 1998, the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) also accomplished the last test-fire of the Trishul missile, which was then introduced into service by the Indian Air Force and Indian Army.
