Executive Summary :

Visible light-driven photoredox catalysis is gaining attention for efficient organic transformations under mild conditions. Active transition metals facilitate single electron transfer processes, producing reactive charged radical intermediates. scientists are focusing on visible light-mediated metal catalyzed cross-coupling reactions due to their eco-friendly and green nature. Recent reports on C-C and C-N coupling reactions have been addressed, but C-s and C-O coupling reactions are less reported. To overcome sustainability and scalability issues, inexpensive organic dyes have been introduced in metal catalytic processes. This project proposes designing and synthesizing metal catalytic systems with suitable ligands, such as dithioether (1,2 or 1,3) moiety, for photoluminescence metal coordination polymer complexes. The dithioether ligands and their metal coordination polymers will be characterized using various spectroscopic techniques, and their photoluminescence properties will be examined. The metal-CPs will then be applied in visible light-mediated cross coupling reactions under ambient conditions.
