Executive Summary :

Objective: Study of the relationship between naturally occurring environment (dust particle) and charged droplets. Optimization of parameters of a designed and developed electrostatic dust mitigation device. Laboratory and field trials and validation.

Summary: Dust is a pervasive problem in handling bulk materials such as coal, cement, construction, demolition of buildings, thermal power plants etc. interfering with all aspects of operation. Dust suppression systems help to control the dust while improving efficiency. The reasons for suppressing dust are numerous and varies from industry to industry; however, the main drawbacks of dust are: Loss of valuable material; Machine maintenance; Environmental degradation and health hazards; Reduced visibility; Explosion/oxidation Electrostatic dust mitigation device is highly useful in suppressing the dust particles entrained in the air and protect the environment in an efficient way. It produces uniform and fine spray particles that are nearly equal in proportion of dust size particles. The proposed device and utility model discloses a multipurpose air-assisted high-range electrostatic spraying system based on induction charging principle for dust mitigation and environment protection. The proposed technology is a kind of new practice in India and it will help in suppressing the dust as an environment protection tool. It will be a great asset and technological solution for SWACHH BHARAT, SWASTH BHARAT mission.
