Executive Summary :

The application for Women PG Colleges under CURIE CURIE-PG 2021 includes details about the college, its year of establishment, status as an affiliated college, names of post-graduate departments, financial status, and accreditation by NAAC/NIRF. The application also asks for the number of PG faculty members, their qualifications, and length of service in the respective departments. The Department of Chemistry at the University of Uttarakhand has a strong focus on research and teaching, admitting and passing numerous PG students in various disciplines. The department has received support under the FIST Program and major infrastructure research grants from ST agencies over the last five years. The research activities of faculty members include research publications in SCI journals, scientific/technical books written by faculty members, and library facilities. The Department plans to apply high impact practices in both teaching and research by incorporating contemporary instrumentation resources with well-maintained core facilities. The Department of Botany, established in 2005, aims to introduce specialization courses in Plant Taxonomy, Ethnobotany, Ecology, Plant Tissue culture, Biotechnology, and related branches in Plant Sciences. The department plans to strengthen existing research activities in Bryology and Plant Pathology, promote research in Microbiology, Plant tissue culture, and screening of Phytochemical potential of rare and medicinally important plants, and conserve the dwindling diversity of Rare Red-listed Himalayan Bryotaxa. To achieve future upgradation aims, the department requires infrastructure, instrumentations, reference books and journals, laptops, computers and softwares, glass-house, tissue culture labs, and other necessary resources. By fostering interdisciplinary and collaborative research and development, the department aims to solve critical issues, capitalize on opportunities, and enhance its reputation among academia. The Department of Physics Post graduate program in Physics began in 2015 with a specialization in Electronics, aiming to develop research interest among underprivileged students by providing access to experimental and research-based knowledge. The requested funds for the program include FTIR, fluorescence spectrophotometer, rotary evaporator, chiller pump, chromatographic chamber, oven, fridge, computer printer, inverter, dry box, magnetic stirrer, heating mantles, vacuum pumps, UV-visible chamber, micropipettes, centrifuge machines, fume hoods, vacuum lines, Sonicator, DNA analyzer, spectrophotometer, vertical autoclave, stereoscopic binocular microscope, photomicrographic apparatus, double distillator, DO Meter, LCD projectors, field camera, dosimeter, spark counter, monochromator, UV-lamp cabinet, laser 980nm and 405nm with tunable power supply, Zeeman effect, infrastructure facilities, consumables, contingencies, network computational facilities, manpower, overhead, and budget heads.
