Executive Summary :

This study aims to develop epidemic models that will keep an account of deaths and quarantines. Control strategies will be designed to achieve NPI objectives like flattening the curve. Also to study the characterisation of the spread using data driven models and emerging literature on the statistics of the COVID-19 infections.

Outcome/Output:

A differential equation-based SIR model has been developed, that does not assume that the population is conserved. The model develops several extensions, community with `imported infections' and interacting communities. Developed several control theoretic models to control the spread of the epidemic in a community through non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) like various degrees of lockdowns and enforcement of social distancing, increased testing and isolation of the infected individuals.
