Executive Summary :

The project aims at tackling the challenging problem of building computational models for accented speech. Improvements in accented speech processing can be of great significance for Indian users of speech technologies. Developing techniques for accented speech processing and recognition that work in low-resource settings can also be more broadly applicable to other speech and language problems (like spoken machine translation) that are constrained by limited amounts of labelled data.
