Brief Description
Description : | This technology is designed for treating wastewater from both industrial and domestic sources with minimal sludge generation, low energy consumption, and no odor emission. It uses a chemoautotrophic activated carbon oxidation reactor where microorganisms are immobilized on mesoporous carbon in a packed bed system. Air is supplied through perforated pipelines at multiple levels to facilitate oxidation of organic pollutants, with airflow regulated based on the chemical oxygen demand (COD) load and system resistance. The process requires a low footprint, operates at low cost, and can be integrated with membrane separation systems. It has been successfully implemented in industries such as leather, textile, pharmaceutical, and chemical sectors.
