Executive Summary : | A mathematical system for evaluating the mechanical performance of degradable plastic products is one of the key activities in the present project proposal. The mechanical performance of degradable plastic products derived from lignin will be quickly evaluated by relating with the properties of degradable plastic with a mathematical system. Similarly, the mechanical performance of sandwich structured artificial foot constituting adhesive system, reinforcements, and sheet metals will be quickly evaluated by relating the adhesive properties, reinforcement properties with a mathematical system. In the present work, the degradable plastic is made of lignin material extracted from the wood waste. The mathematical systems to be developed will be helpful in selection of properties of degradable plastic properties towards successful product development, and selection of adhesive properties for achieving better performance of artificial foot. Selection of degradable plastic properties and adhesive properties in developing the product is a great challenge wherein large number experiments required. This mathematical system development would help reduce large number of experiments and cost involved, and in quick selection of designing parameters for successful development of products in this regard. The main objectives of the proposed project work is twofold (i) to develop a constitutional mathematical system for performance evaluation of bio-degradable plastic products, and (ii) to develop a constitutional mathematical system for performance evaluation of sandwich structured artificial foot. |
