Executive Summary : | The multi-functional antenna is crucial for 5G/6G, cognitive radio, radar, and satellite communication systems. However, separate filters, RF switches, or multiplexers can increase system size, cost, and complexity. Self-multiplex antennas can address these issues by eliminating the need for extra filters or multiplexer circuits, providing good isolation and avoiding intermodal interference. Stator integrated waveguide (SIW)-based self-multiplex antennas offer lower loss compared to other planar guiding structures and are compact in size, making them suitable for 6G and other wireless communication systems. The project aims to design and fabricate substrate integrated waveguide self-triplex antennas for 6G mobile-hand sets in the sub-Terahertz frequency band with high isolation, substrate integrated waveguide self-quadruplex antennas for 6G mobile-hand sets in the sub-Terahertz frequency band, substrate integrated waveguide self-multiplex penta band antennas for Terahertz frequency bands with high port isolation, and substrate integrated waveguide self-multiplex deca band antennas for Terahertz frequency bands. The antennas will be designed using 3D electromagnetic simulation software HFSS/I3D and tested experimentally. As future wireless communication technology in India and other countries moves towards 6G standards in 2030, smart and efficient antennas are needed to implement the 6G system in a compact size. The design and fabrication of self-multiplex antennas using SIW technology open new research fields to fulfill the requirements of portable radar and 6G systems. |
