Executive Summary :

The Indian medical market, valued at $11 billion in 2020, is expected to reach $50 billion by 2025. However, the country relies heavily on imports of medical devices, implants, and prosthetics, making them difficult to access or expensive for end users. To reduce dependence on imports, efforts are needed to establish indigenous production of medical implants. Single Point Incremental Sheet Forming (SPIF) is an effective solution for developing biomedical implants, but it has limitations, such as low geometrical accuracy and inability to produce geometrically efficient parts. A hybrid solution combining DSIF and Electric Assisted ISF (EAISF) is proposed to facilitate hard-to-form biocompatible materials.
