A process for the preparation of styrene based coating from Bhilawanut Shell Liquid

The present invention relates to the preparation of Bhilawanut Shell Liquid (BSL) having long side chain which provides suitable protection to bamboo surface. Bamboo surfaces having definite composition of styrene , BSL and methyl ethyl ketone peroxide in the ratio of 1:12.9 :18.9 referring with the examples and curing with the selected curing agents undergoing copolymerization reaction in presence of peroxide . The resultant bamboo BSL - STYRENE surface is resistant to high acidic meidium. Coating testing approves the coated surface having definite scratch hardness value and thickness. The process improves the mechanical properties of the timber withstanding micro-organisms activity and high UV radiations.
