Brief Description

Description :

Use of free living organisms, generally called Plant Growth Promoting Beneficial Bacteria (PGPB) and Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) are regarded as an eco-friendly and cost effective choice. Strains belonging to bacterial genera have shown potential to enhance growth and yield in crop plants besides control of many diseases. North eastern part of India comes under one of the hot spot for microbial biodiversity. CSIR-NEIST developed the present technology from the rich microbial diversity for improved biomass, yield and control of fungal bacterial diseases of agriculturally important crop plants besides improving soil fertility improvement.
