Executive Summary : | Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer worldwide, and also the leading cause of cancer related death among women. The Barak Valley region in the North-Eastern part of India also is plagued by this disease. The deadly outcomes of the disease can be avoided with effective early diagnosis of the disease through various computational algorithms. With the recent advancements in the area of Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning and Deep Learning, it is the most appropriate time to utilize such technological developments towards the process of data-driven early diagnosis of breast cancer. In this project, the primary focus will on the design, development, deployment and assessment of Deep Learning based predictive models for the task of automatic detection and prediction of breast cancer using the Ultrasound imaging modality, with a special emphasis on the local population of Barak Valley region situated in the North-Eastern part of India. The goal of this project is the development and utilization of Deep Learning based predictive modeling, for providing real-time decision support to the diagnostic radiologists involved in the process of the detection of breast cancer. As an outcome of the project, we expect to produce a deployed model in the real time enviroment in the cachar cancer hospital and research center, silchar,Assam and publish articles as well as patents with respect to the modern computational approaches that will be explored as part of the project. |
