Executive Summary :

This study investigates the thermal behavior of transition metal nanocomposites containing phosphate groups and their potential applications in sensible heat storage materials (SHMs), phase change materials (PCMs), selective anti-reflective coatings (SARCs), building envelope materials (BEMs), and thermal management materials (TMMs). The nanocomposites will be synthesized using the precipitation method and characterized using various electro-analytical techniques. The specific heat capacity (Cp) will be measured for 1-10 thermal cycles at heating rates of 5, 10, and 15 K/min in atmospheric N₂ and air. BEMs will be fabricated by mixing the synthesized materials with commercial wall care putty. The study focuses on the exothermic and endothermic behaviours, Cp and enthalpy of fusion (ΔHfus), reflectance, and thermal conductivity of the nanocomposites to indicate their potential applications. The synthesized composites will be fabricated using transition metal-phosphate nanocomposites with different bases, such as transition metal, phosphoric acid, and organic/inorganic bases. The materials will be filtered, dried, and stored in a desiccator. SARCs will be coated on PTSC absorber tubes using spray techniques, while BEMs will be fabricated by mixing the synthesized materials with commercial wall care putty in different proportions. The resulting slurry will be dried at ambient conditions to obtain the BEMs.
