Executive Summary : | In this project, one advanced high-strength steel (DP 980), one aluminium alloy (AA 7075) and one magnesium alloy (AZ31) sheet will be investigated. Hole expansion ratios for different hole preparation conditions will be investigated. Improvement in hole expansion ratio by including a stress relaxation time during the punch stroke and local thickening of the edge by additive manufacturing will also be investigated. The strain paths at the edge of the expanding hole will be investigated by both experimental and finite element approaches. |
