Executive Summary : | The field of photoredox catalysis with novel reactivities and their asymmetric variants is of great interest in synthetic organic chemistry. Generally photochemical reaction are carried out with organic dyes or transition metal based photocatalyst's. However, development of novel radical reactions without an external photocatalyst or a dye presents a unique opportunity for further development. In this proposal, an outline for developing organocatalytic radical reactions is described. In addition, we will also attempt the enantioselective variants of these reactions through Brønsted acid catalysis. The successful realization of this proposal will unfurl novel concepts and transformations which will certainly contribute to the advancement of field. |
