Executive Summary :

The proposed project is on the design of a miniature, compact space TWT with the following features: • Overall tube efficiency of more than 60% • Weight reduction of more than 50% • Size reduction of more than 30% In this proposed project, initially 2D and 3D design of each of the component of the TWT will be carried out individually followed by their individual thermal and structural simulations in ANSYS. Later, full-tube simulation will be carried out using particle-in cell simulations in CST which will be followed by thermal and simulation of the full-tube in CST. Cross-validation of the design results with different software tools will be performed. However, fabrication/integration of components and tube development will be out of scope of this present proposed project due to the lack of the adequate infrastructure for the tube fabrication.
