Executive Summary : | As a paradigm shift in the automotive sector from internal combustion engines to the battery-operated electrical vehicle is taking place in this decade, a proper system and set of rules need to be set up and established to avoid any hazards which involve human interaction. Lithium-ion cell technology which enables this shift comes with lots of challenges. As the material used for the cell is not environment-friendly and improper handling may lead to failures that cannot be accepted from a safety point of view. In this direction, a project proposal targets the design of a proper Battery Management System (BMS) which is required for the longevity of lithium-ion cells, and an advanced algorithm that determines the cell critical parameters like internal resistance, cell temperature, and state of health and takes corrective action in advance to avoid any undesirable situation. |
