Executive Summary : | The Kitaev spin liquid materials have bond dependent interactions so it is highly affected by the crystal structure and the dimensionality. We have reported that in the polycrystalline sample of ALIO there is stacking faults possibly due to the 3D crystalline nature of the sample (But in real bulk material it cannot be avoided). We have a proposal that if a thin film of ALIO is formed, the spatial dimensionality is reduced from 3D to 2D and then the effect of strain could modify the interactions which further reflects in its magnetic properties. In the bulk sample the angle between Ir-O-Ir varies from 76-84 degree but ideally it should be 90 degree and also in bulk sample there is always a non-zero interlayer interactions are possible. Hence it would also be interesting to analyze it in the thin film. |
