ICMR Grand Challenge Call for Proposals: Development of Aspirational Nutrient-Dense Food Products for Adolescent Girls and Women of Reproductive Age to Prevent Anaemia

A specialized national Grand Challenge call for proposals titled “Development of Aspirational Nutrient-Dense Food Products for Adolescent Girls and Women of Reproductive Age (WRA) to Prevent Anaemia”. The initiative aims to support innovative, food-based technological solutions to reduce the prevalence of anaemia among adolescent girls and women in India. Focus areas include iron-rich and nutrient-dense food formulations, fortified snacks, beverages, gummies, consumer-friendly aspirational designs, behavioral science-driven solutions, and improved nutrient bioavailability. Selected projects will receive financial grant support of up to ₹1 Crore per project for an operational tenure of 01 Year.

Eligibility: Open to recognized Academic and Research Institutions, Food Industry Partners, Registered Startups, and Non-Profit Organisations. Collaborative proposals combining nutrition science, the food processing industry, and behavioral experts are strongly encouraged to achieve scalable and affordable manufacturing models.
