Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) Call for Proposals under Mission for Advancement in High-Impact Areas (MAHA) Water Program 2026

A national mission-driven research grant initiative designed to support collaborative, consortia-based research projects addressing India’s critical water challenges through innovative technological solutions. The program focuses on 5 core areas: Water Resource Assessment and Sustainable Management; Drinking Water; Water Quality, Human and Ecological Health; Water Use Efficiency and Circular Economy; and Climate Resilience and Adaptation. Selected project consortia will receive financial support of up to ₹20 Crore distributed over an implementation tenure of 3 years. The proposal evaluation follows a two-stage process, beginning with a mandatory pre-proposal phase.

Eligibility: Applicants must hold a regular or permanent institutional position in a recognized academic institution, national research laboratory, or research and development organization in India. Candidates must possess a valid Ph.D. degree in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or relevant Social Sciences. Formulation of proposals must strictly align with consortia-driven structures.
