Executive Summary : | Study of some Phytochemicals from selected indigenous wild food plants of Senapati District of Manipur, North East India. Herbal extracts are now becoming useful in modern medicine as well as food supplement. Some important wild plants are selected for the investigation from different plant parts namely Paedaria(Gall),Clerodendrum serratum (whole plant),C.Coolebrookianum(Leaf),Hodgsonia heteroctita(Nut),Kakuba(whole plant),Thingthu(Leaf & infloresence),Black ginger(Rhizome),Yai heinouman(Rhizome). The important parameters are taken into consideration during investigation. 1.Survey and collection of medicinal plants from different localities of Senapati district. 2.Information on ethnomedicinal from local herbalist and their traditional methods. 3.Estimation of antioxidant by using suitable methods. 4.Estimation of carbohydrates (sugars),protein,Amino acids,Fats. 5. Estimation of Glycoside and Alkaloid especially for human health |
