Executive Summary :

Historically it has been observed that with the process of development, inequality or the disparity evolve by its own particularly in the developing country like India. Uniform pattern of development is the biggest challenge which all the nations of world are facing. Social scientist, planners and policy makers all over the world are putting their best efforts to minimise these imbalances. Each country has a particular combination of problems in its various regions and the keys to development are regionally unique. The fundamental task of geography, thus, is to obtain a spatially differentiated analysis of the stages of development pertaining to a country or a regions with in those countries. The struggle of human kind for equality has been stretched to the extent of treating it responsible for social and economic transformation. India has gained huge headway progress in terms of socio-economic development; however the gap between urban-rural areas is still very large which in turn weakens the foundation of sustainable as well as uniform development of India. Now a day's Geospatial technologies has been widely used by health administrators and professional, Policymakers, statisticians, and regional and district medical officers. The availability of multi-level medical facilities is a critical issue in promoting public health. Due to comprehensive health care reforms and high-quality medical care, urban residents around the world have seen remarkable improvements in their health status over the last few decades. However, in Rural area specially of developing Nation proper Health care facilities is still a distant dream. Healthcare spending is considered the best social investment in society, as safe society is one of the fundamental aspects of development in many developing countries to encourage social well-being and minimize the risk of health disasters. Worldwide health agenda, now a day's aims to confirm Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and to confirm that each one of the individual obtain the required health services and underpins the health-related Sustainable Development Goals. Presence of Health care facility alone doesn’t solve all problems of having a healthy community but in addition the easy access to these facilities does. The present Study area has been chosen as it is the most populated District of Jammu and Kashmir and most of its population is residing in villages. There is great disparity between its rural and urban area in terms of Infrastructure development and moreover its rural area shows lopsided development. The present study mainly focused to analyse the disparities in the spatial distribution of healthcare facilities in rural area of Jammu District, J&K and to identify the optimal spatial space for the creation of new health care related facilities.
