Executive Summary :

1) Organometal halide perovskites recently achieved above 15% power-to-electrical conversion efficiency in planar heterojunction solar cells. 2) This development makes organometal halide perovskites as solar cell absorber material promising. 3) Changing the chemical composition of hybrid materials changes the perovskite structure's distances and angles. 3) Chemical modifications and how the absorber layer is formed affect its physical properties: electron/hole mobility, dielectric constant, band gap size, exciton diffusion length, exciton binding energy, and exciton lifetime. 4) This project aims to understand how material characteristics affect device performance. Knowing how these gadgets function will allow us to chemically tweak their attributes and performance. As a consequence, perovskite-based solar cells should improve. 5) There are two main findings to be tested in this proposal (a) How can the organometal halide perovskite absorber layer's physical properties be modified chemically? (b) How do organometal halide perovskite absorber layer characteristics can affect solar cell performance? Approach and methods Synthesis of hybrid materials Creating well-defined surfaces Investigating structural properties. Investigating electrical properties. Investigating optical properties.
