Executive Summary : | Researchers are exploring new materials and microwaves to improve the interaction between electromagnetic waves and microwaves. The dielectric properties of materials determine their usefulness in the microwave regime. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) are working on developing microwave dielectric materials for various applications, including radar systems, marine navigation, communication systems, and indigenous navigation antennas for smartphones and automobiles. The project aims to bridge the gap between the two and promote the manufacturing of suitable ceramic dielectric materials, enhancing quality human resources and promoting independence in the technical field. The target beneficiaries include aerospace, military, and telecommunications industries, as well as private agencies of the automobile sector and smartphone companies. The project aims to develop appropriate dielectric materials for fabricating microwave devices and components, meeting the demand for NavIC-based smartphones and automotive GPS antennas in India in the next 4-5 years. |
