Executive Summary :

Exposure of critical and vital components of spacecrafts to external radiation leads to degradation of the properties of the structural and electronic materials, thereby jeopardizing the flightworthiness of the spacecrafts. Hence it is critical for the identification of significant property changes induced as a result of the radiation exposure in the aforementioned materials. The purpose of this project is to develop and understand the radiation effects on the physical, mechanical, thermal and optical properties of materials (metallic and composite).
