Brief Description
Description : | Swachhta Picker which is manually-operated handheld equipment that helps to pick up all kinds of solid and semi-solid waste from a distance without much need to bend or physically touch the waste. It, therefore, eliminates the need for direct contact with waste and hence minimizes many kinds of health and safety risks for the sanitation workers. In context to COVID-19, it has a significant role to protect the sanitation workers from the transmission of the virus through contaminated waste. The technology was evaluated by COVID-19 comprising of Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council, Department of Science & Technology, Department of Biotechnology, AGNIi, Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser, and AIM- NITI Aayog. |
