Executive Summary :

The study found that ferulic acid (FA) can reduce radiation-induced DNA damage in peripheral blood. FA was treated with Keap1-Nrf2 protein-protein interaction, a cellular drug target, and showed a significant reduction in reactive oxygen species and DNA damage. The study suggests that FA could be a potential radio-protective agent, with in silico approaches for screening as a better antioxidant-based radio-protector. Quantitative data is needed to understand biological processes in vitro/in vivo.
