Executive Summary :

This project aims to develop waste egg shell membrane with doped (zinc and cobalt) bioactive glass based prototype patch to achieve functionality for effective wound healing specifically for treatment of burn as well as diabetic burn care. Herein, proposed to develop doped bioactive glass coated egg cell membrane followed by detailed characterization of the material so developed by DTA-TGA, chemical analyses, XRD, FTIR, FESEM, particle size distribution, zeta potential, viscosity, etc. Proposed to carry out extensive in vitro studies and in vivo validation of developed doped bioactive glass coated egg shell membrane patch both in burn as well as diabetic burn wound in rabbit model. In depth in vitro studies of these fibers/mats will be carried out based on cell proliferation and viability assessment using Primary human dermal fibroblast cell line.
