Brief Description

Description :

This technology involves the design and implementation of a wastewater treatment system specifically integrated with rainwater harvesting structures to treat collected rainwater and associated runoff. Rainwater collected from rooftops and catchment surfaces often carries suspended solids, organic impurities, and contaminants from atmospheric deposition and surface contact. The system incorporates pre-treatment units such as screening and sedimentation to remove coarse particles, followed by filtration and treatment processes to eliminate finer suspended matter and dissolved impurities. In some configurations, disinfection units may also be included to ensure microbial safety. The treated water can be reused for non-potable applications such as irrigation, flushing, and groundwater recharge, thereby reducing dependence on freshwater sources and improving water conservation efficiency. Key Features: • Integrates rainwater harvesting with wastewater treatment processes • Removes suspended solids, organic impurities, and contaminants from collected rainwater • Includes stages such as screening, sedimentation, filtration, and optional disinfection • Enables reuse of treated water for non-potable purposes like irrigation and flushing • Supports groundwater recharge and sustainable water management • Reduces reliance on freshwater sources and enhances water conservation
