Executive Summary : | Ultrasound imaging is a non-invasive imaging modality that poses fewer health hazards to a patient due to use of non-ionizing radiation. Hence, it is widely used in fetal imaging and analysis of cardiac motion. Although ultrasound imaging is an effective tool for diagnosis of issues related to health, it is nearly absent in many rural healthcare facilities in developing regions due to the high costs of both equipment and required training. To address this issue, the project envisages the development of a low-cost, super-resolution, portable ultrasound imaging system targeted mainly at rural India. |
