Executive Summary : | Cognitive psychology experiments often use rigid, controlled tasks, making them irrelevant in real-world situations. Bilingualism, a complex social phenomenon, is a prime example of this issue. Research on bilingualism has evolved to consider the interactive context of the speaker/listener. This phenomenon, known as "bilingual language adaptation," suggests that language production and comprehension are influenced by an individual's social/cultural context. However, ecological validity issues still persist. To address this, researchers propose measuring language adaptation parameters in real-world situations using wearable eye-tracking glasses. This data will examine the fixation pattern of bilingual participants and provide insights into why bilinguals choose specific languages and how they switch between languages in complex communicative situations. |
