Description : | This invention relates to Genetically modified uricase enzymes optimized for maximum biocatalytic activity at human physiological pH for treatment of Hyperuricemia and Hyperuricosuria. Using Recombinant DNA Technology, Uric Acid oxidizing enzymes (Uricases) with novel sequences have been engineered for their use as Serum Uric Acid (SUA) lowering agents. These recombinant enzymes show high stability at biological pH itself. These novel enzymes have many fold higher biocatalytic efficiency at physiological pH than their pre-existing counterparts. |
